trisk [verb]: the process of throwing ideas around & turning them into action.
Our mission is to provide a vibrant performance venue and rehearsal space, fostering the growth and celebration of dance and movement-based artists in NYC.
In our theater and in our studios, we are actively shaping the world we want to live in. It's a world where differences are celebrated, where individuals are empowered to tell their unique stories, and where empathy and care are the cornerstones of our interactions. Through dance and movement, we not only entertain but also educate, provoke thought, and spark conversations that lead to positive change. We are proud to be part of a city as diverse as NYC, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our contributions reflect and enrich the cultural landscape of this incredible city. In every step we take, we build not just a stage but a platform for the voices that need to be heard, a canvas for the stories that need to be told, and a sanctuary for the dreams we all share in a world where unity, diversity, and empathy prevail.

WHAT WE DO

Trisk has been an integral part of Brooklyn’s cultural landscape for the past 23 years, presenting movement-based artists on our stages and fostering their creative processes in our rehearsal studios. With founding Artistic Director Abby Bender, we opened in 2000 in Williamsburg with a single studio, and in 2015 moved to our current Greenpoint home with an 80-seat black-box theater and five rehearsal studios. More than 800 original productions have taken place on our stages, and artists have used countless subsidized rehearsal hours in our studios.
In August 2019, we were recognized by the city for our outstanding work in our communities with an official citation and the seal of our borough.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
We respectfully acknowledge that the work of Triskelion Arts is situated on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of Lenapehoking, the homeland of the Lenape peoples. We pay our respects to their land, water, and ancestors, past, present, and future. This acknowledgment demonstrates a commitment to the process of working to dismantle the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism and to learn to be better stewards of this land.
