The program includes:

• 150 hours of fully subsidized rehearsal space to be used in any of our studios from DEC-JUNE 13, 2026

• $500 stipend

• Lighting Design

• Open rehearsal: two hours of studio rehearsal in the theater with our technical team and designers

• Trisk Mini Tech: two hours of technical rehearsal prior to the start of the production week with our technical team and designers

• Twenty hours of technical rehearsals during the production week of JUNE 8, 2026

• On-site prop storage

• Dressing room lockout for the production week

• Video documentation of all performances

• Marketing meetings to discuss strategy and details

• Website and social media marketing

• Press releases and invitations to presenters, publications, and content creators

• Virtual and printed program

• A comprehensive digital packet, The Trisk Blueprint, consolidating marketing strategies, technical plans, and financial resources, as a tool for future productions and career growth

• Unlimited free access to the Trisk “Think Tank” workspace

• A three-evening performance series in our theater from JUNE 11-13, 2026. This series will feature the premiere of a newly developed work, crafted during the residency, presented as an evening-length performance.

• Box office management and ticketing support

• 50% of the Box Office Sales

This residency program is intended for artists whose practice benefits from an immersive, process-driven studio experience with a focus on the development and premiere of a new work already in process, rather than the expansion or remounting of previously presented work.

The artist selected as the 2026 Artist-in-Residence will gain access to program resources within the following timeline, which is structured to provide continued support as the artist develops their work leading up to the performances.

SEPTEMBER 2025
The selected artist is welcomed into the program! The artist will receive a contract with performance dates and scheduling details. Additionally, they will have access to guidance on funding and project planning resources to support their work.

DECEMBER 2025:
The artist will attend the Trisk Meeting—a welcome session where they connect with the Trisk Team to discuss technical, design, marketing, and administrative aspects of the residency. This meeting provides an overview of the production timeline, key milestones, and available resources, ensuring a shared understanding and a strong start to the process.

SPRING 2026
Studio rehearsal residency from DECEMBER 2025-JUNE 13, 2026
The artist can book 150 fully subsidized rehearsal hours in any of the Trisk studios. During this time the artist will have regular meetings with the Trisk Team to discuss lighting, sound, and staging needs and marketing strategy to outline promotional support. Additionally, there will be a Trisk Mini Tech that provides the artist with an opportunity to explore the theater space and begin planning technical elements ahead of the production week.

PRODUCTION WEEK
The artist participates in Technical Rehearsals, a dress rehearsal and final preparations the week of JUNE 8, 2026. The week includes full production support and a final marketing effort to maximize audience engagement.

POST-PERFORMANCE
Artists receive compensation, video documentation and access to continued performance ticket discounts and community resources at Trisk.

To be considered for this opportunity, artists should be...

• Engaged in a creative process with the intention of developing and premiering a new work already in process, rather than the expansion or remounting of previously presented work.

• Living in NYC within the five boroughs during the time of the application and the performances.

• Actively participating in the field of dance and movement-based forms.

• Available the week of JUNE 8, 2026, for technical rehearsals and three evening performances, JUNE 11-13, 2026 

• Available DEC 2025-JUNE 2026 for the studio rehearsal residency

Please note:

• Artists cannot currently participate in any full-time programs that grant degrees (including K-12, undergraduate, or graduate studies) in any field.

• Artists who have been presented by Trisk within the past five years (2021–2025) or are scheduled to be presented in the upcoming two years (2026 & 2027) are not eligible, excluding those featured in guest-curated presentations. 

• All artists presented in Trisk’s Fall 2025 programming, those presented by Trisk in evening-length productions in 2023, 2024, or 2025, and any past Trisk Artists-in-Residence are not eligible.

We are committed to a transparent and inclusive selection process. Each year, artists can apply through an open application process, which we promote broadly through our website, social media, email newsletters, word-of-mouth networks, and community partners to ensure wide and equitable access. Applications are reviewed by Triskelion Arts and a rotating peer panel, with final decisions made by the selection panel. This structure ensures that decision-making is comprehensive, equitable, and grounded in multiple perspectives. By prioritizing access and inclusivity, we strengthen a pathway where artists can thrive and audiences can experience bold new work.
