A Dream of Larva
A Dream of Larva is a hybrid dance-theater work integrating movement, text, and visual images to explore psychological survival within domestic violence. Through the work, I investigate resilience in the face of violence, asking how people continue to survive, adapt, and find connection despite repeated cycles of personal and collective trauma. Rather than depicting violence itself, the work explores the body's capacity to endure, transform, and imagine new possibilities for living.

Mizuho Kappa is a choreographer and performing artist originally from Osaka, Japan, with a degree in Entomology.
She has recently performed with Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More NY, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Yoshiko Chuma & The School of Hard Knocks, Ballet Collective, among others.
Her self-choreographed solo works have been presented at The Shed, La MaMa, Gene Frankel Theater, TheaterLab, The Brick, Ars Nova, NOoSPHERE ARTS and more.
She frequently collaborates with cross-disciplinary artists, including a neuroscience researcher, transmedia playwright, hybrid writer and puppet designer. These collaborative works have been showcased at the New Museum, New York Hall of Science, Open Source Gallery, Grace Exhibition Space, City University of Hong Kong, House of Yes, the Chocolate Factory and beyond.
Kappa is a commissioned choreographer for Peridance Contemporary Dance Company ‘25 Season, and a recipient of the GALLIM Moving Artist Residency '25, Mark Morris SharedSpace Residency '26.
Her choreographic voice is recognized for conveying narrative through raw expression, unexpected physicality, and striking surrealistic tableaux, described as “evoking and unhinged” by Brooklyn Magazine and “potent” by The New York Times.

There’s an eclipse happening all the time
It is no wonder clouds darken before they rain/ they are starting to feel more like us.
Imagine this work as a solo. Imagine a duet. What might be gained to imagine it as both? What must be sacrificed? This piece investigates an embodied reality of W.E.B Du Bois’ writings on “double consciousness.” Through poetry, projections, and highly-physical movement, Richmond researches the maddening pervasiveness of hyper-surveillance, reckoning with America’s perpetual problematization of Blackness.

Dylan Richmond is a choreographer, dancer, researcher, and poet from the Connecticut shoreline. Dylan has presented work at TOTAH, WestFest, NYU, The Tank, Bowdoin College; and lectured at Yale University, UCLA, and Connecticut College. As a poet, Dylan is a Pushcart Prize nominee and is notably published in A Gathering of the Tribes, From Root to Seed: Black, Brown, and Indigenous Poets Write the Northeast, Sibling Rivalry Press, Lily Poetry Review, and No, Dear. He also shares with his twin the 2020 “Excellence in Journalism Award” from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalism. Dylan is the Company Manager and Live Gallery Producer for New York Live Arts and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company. He graduated cum laude from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Dance and English where he received the President’s Award.
