NEW FEEDBACK PROGRAM FOR WORKS IN PROGRESS

Rip Rap Program

SHARE YOUR WORK.  IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE.

Rip Rap will bring together performing artists of diverse backgrounds, including dance, theater, circus arts, and more to share short (10 minutes or less) experimental works-in-progress with one another. The program has been designed and will be facilitated by Amy Larimer, a veteran New York artist with 20 years of experience creating and performing experimental movement-based work.  The program aims to benefit artists by creating an environment that fosters a culture of respect, artistic development, and the incubation of new ideas. The overarching theme for this program will be to create a safe space at Triskelion Arts in which artists can feel comfortable presenting what they may deem as “risky” work. To this end, artists will be encouraged to bring pieces that may include performance disciplines in which the artist may have less experience than in their selected field, work that deals with subject matter that the artist perceives as controversial, or work which the artist fears might not be successful in front of an audience due to its nature. Discussions will be directed at assisting artists in discovering the benefits of the risks that they have taken, guiding them to understand how the work in its current incarnation is perceived by its audience, and exploring ways in which the work presented can be more effective in portraying their vision.

To participate, please complete an application by clicking HERE.
We are accepting rolling submissions. Rip Rap will take place on Sundays 10am-1pm,  Jan. 22, Feb. 19, March 11, April 22, and May 20.
Applications will be evaluated on the “riskiness” of the work and dates will be arranged based on artist availability and the need to create a balanced program representing a variety of disciplines.
